Inspection of the specific component in relation with the required expertise;
Investigations and Studies
Our expertise and investigations allow us to make a detailed evaluation and/or to determine the status of a building component. It can be used to assess the merits of a complaint, to identify the cause of an apparent deficiency or a lack of comfort. Our studies can also provide a pre-project assessment when replacing or enhancing a building component related to the building envelope, the structure, mechanics and electricity as well as energy efficiency and sustainable building.
The main steps of an expertise mandate are defined as follows:
- Data collection including pictures, available plans review, and interviews with stakeholders;
- Case analysis including the identification of potential problem causes, the best practices review, a review of codes and standards and the identification of possible solutions;
- Report writing which describes the current status of the assessed component, identifies the problem to be corrected, and if required, provides one or more possible solutions and includes a budget evaluation for each solution.
Expertise provides an opportunity to ascertain the actual condition of the component or system and retain the best solution for remedial work.
